Distance and Midpoint Project is due by Tuesday, September 13, 2016.
On a separate sheet of paper students must include the following:
On a separate sheet of paper students must include the following:
- Total distance between the Start and Finish (Show all of your work!)
- List the 10 states you will travel through
- Description of how you are splitting up the 5 days
- Find the distance you will travel each of the 5 days (try to pick locations you would actually want to visit!)
- You must make a pit stop every day for gas and food, you have to stop exactly half-way every day, find your stopping states (this is your midpoint!). List the midpoint for each day.
- Must start in West TN
- Does not have to be straight lines, but if you are using straight lines please use a ruler.
- TN can count as 1 of your 10 states
- Don't have to end in TN
- SHOW ALL OF YOUR WORK!!!!!

Honors Geometry Re-scale project: DUE NO LATER THAN May 12, 2016.
This project is to help students get a better understanding of similar figures. The directions are pretty simple. Take an object of their choosing and determine a scale factor for the project. Then resize it, smaller or larger. Most go with larger because it looks better. They will need to bring in the original object and the re-scaled object! They will also need to answer the following 3 questions:
1. What are the dimensions of your original object?
2. What are the dimensions of your re-scaled object?
3. In what careers would 're-scaling' be necessary? In what ways?
Here are a few examples:
